ABOUT SAMI
Samantha Blanton was born and raised in Wheeling, West Virginia where she kicked off her artistic journey in competitive dance and athletic training at Turn It Out Dance Academy. She grew up dancing at the young age of two years old, training in various dance styles. While in her teenage years, she also created a strong skillset in the National Dance Alliance high school dance team technique. Developing artistically in such a small town created large aspirations for a hardworking life in the industry. While holding onto her skills in ballet, jazz, musical theater, hip-hop, acrobatics, and tap, Samantha expanded her education by attending the Boston Conservatory at Berklee where she emersed herself in new dance techniques/methods like Horton, Limón, Graham, West African Dance, Salsa, contemporary and ballet partnering, improvisation and choreography. She collaborated with other talented artists, such as Kurt Douglas, Victor Quijada, Joe González, Gustavo Ramírez Sansano, Amarisa LeBar, and Jenifer Archibald. While at the Conservatory, she started a new technical journey into Precision Dance where the Radio City Rockettes coached her. Consistent training in these structured techniques designed an extremely well-rounded dynamic that Samantha possesses. She holds strong pedagogy and training skills in commercial dance work as well as contemporary forms. Alongside dancing, Samantha has developed her cross-training in dance plyometrics which helped not only her body but her mind with the rigorous demands of the dance industry.
